Default Bolt Overview

This is NOT mine, but if you have Q's post em and we'll answer (taiwan, barking, me, the other peeps)

After receiving my long awaited Blue Bolt i thought that i might as well post up a review. The Bolt arrived in a plastic zip bag and came with A small allen wrench to adjust the lenght of the pin that connects it to the hammer. The pin on my bolt was to short and needed to be adjusted. Bes ure toy adjust your long enouph to stay inside the hammer but not to long or it might interfer with the main spring. In this review i compare it to 3 other Bolts and a couple of variations on some bolts. The following is the list of The bolt and how it was tested.

1) Fenix Shocktech Bolt, has no grooves for o-rings
2) Stock Fenix Bolt with out venturi, but with O-rings
3) Stock Fenix Bolt with out venturi, but with X-Rings
4) Trinity Derlin Bolt with O-rings
5) Blue Bolt with O-rings
6) Blue Bolt with X-rings

You might be wondering why the Trinity bolt was not tested with X-rings, this is because it would not fit inside my Fenix with them on. I dont know why this was, so dont ask.Lol.

For those of you that like or need pics to stay interested here you go.

The First is just a General pic of the Four Bolts used.
from top to bottom.Shocktech bolt, Trinity bolt, Stock bolt and Blue bolt

The second is showing the type of venturi in each of the bolts.
from left to right Shocktech bolt, Trinity bolt, stcok bolt and Blue bolt

I felt the need to compare these bolts for a couple of reasons.

1-Most people have a bolt like one of these or something similar.
at the very least a person would have a stock bolt without
venturi.
2-Its alwasy better to compare a new product toexisting products.

I tested the 6 different variations of bolts listed above on two markers. The first being my Uped Fenix and the second being a completely stock 04 Imagine. I will list exactly what was used when showing the results.I wanted to test the bolt in a stock imagine to see the difference it would have in an HP set up opposed to a LP set. also realized most poeple dont have a set up like mine , so i thought i should make a review that wouuld apply to most peoples set up's

I would first like to post the weight of the bolts. I wanted to weigh the bolts accuratly, but i didnt have a digital scale. so i did it the L.A. ghetto way and went to the post office.LOL. The scale weighs in ounces so thats how im postin them. I think to convert ounces to grams you need to multiply the ounces by 0.036 or somethin. I only have it by memory, i have it written down somewere but cant seem to find it. If any one knows the formula or has the weights already converted PM me an ill post em up.

Shocktech Bolt 1.90 oz
Trinity Bolt 1.30 oz
Stock Fenix Bolt 2.00 oz
Blue Bolt 0.70 oz

*keep in mind that the Blue bolt's weight include the hammer conecting pin and that the weight of the stock Fnix bolt is minus the venturi.

The testin consited of 5 shots taken by each bolt. shots were fired before chronographing started to allow for air pressure to stabalize and settle. I used a hanheld Chrono to test each shot.
The paint used for this was Warped Sports Bonus Balls. The same barrel was used for both markers. The barrel used was my 12in Freak kit with all-american front, the .693 insert was used. As an air source i used a 45/4500 pure energy tak. The same fill was used for all of the testing. Also the orings used on the bolts were all the same, 3 o-rings and 3-x-rings. all 6 rings were inspected and lubed with dow 33 when being switched out.

On to the results
****1

Marker used was my Fenix. The ups that were on my Fenix at the time of the testing are the following
-CIP assault block(completely drilled out)with 300psi guage
-Shocktech LPC
-Bob Long Torpedo Reg with VP Derlin piston
-Steel braided hoe
-Trinity ASA
-Maddman Rocket Valve
-Dark Horizons TI Hammer
-Stock Fenix board
-Stock Fenix ball detent
-Weakest Main spring from the 32* spring kit

You will notice that i removed my T-board and replaced it with the stock board.I just wanted to keep things simple. I also remove the timi ball detents and replced them with the stock detents, since most people have stock ball bearing detents i thought i would switch. The pressure was kept at 200psi. The Torpedo reg was well lubed before the testing started. The hammer also had an x-ring instead of the usual o-ring.results are in FPS(Feet Per Second)

BOLT----------------------------1------2-----3------4-------5---AVERAGE

1)Fenix shocktech bolt___259__255__256__255__259***256.8
2)Stock Fenix bolt, O-ring_275__266__269__252__264***265.2
3)Stock Fenix bolt, X-ring_276__278__271__276__265***273.2
4)Trinity, o-ring_________254__258__263__251__252***255.6
5)Blue bolt,o-ring_______271__282__269__271__277***274.0
6)Blue bolt,x-ring_______255__265__266__274__268***265.6

The blue bolt came out on top, but surprisingly with o-rings instead of x-rings. Although the Blue bolt came out on top, it didnt do it by much. The stock bolt with x-rings was close behind. I will say that the stock bolt did have significantly more kick and more noise. But still not much. Those are the raw numbers, do with them what you will.

****2

The marker used here was a completely stock 04 Imagine. The only upgrades on this Imagine have nothng to do with its internals. I will list them anyway
-Trinity feed neck
-50g switch
-ACP snathc grip

You will notice i was right and thta it s pretty much stock. I also use my 45/4500 pure enrgy tank. the out put pressure on the tank is 850psi. Since ther is no reg on a stock imagine, the pressure was a constant 850psi.The Freak 12in Freal barrel was also used during testing with this marker. Results are again FPS(Feet Per Second) If your wonderin why i keep on explainin this you haevnt been on ******** that long.

BOLT------------------------------1------2------3-------4------5---AVERAGE

1)Fenix shocktech bolt____289__296__293__290__279***289.4
2)Stock Fenix bolt, O-ring__280__295__282__287__289***286.6
3)Stock Fenix bolt, X-ring__275__260__285__287__292***279.8
4)Trinity, O-ring_________295__284__291__292__305***293.4
5)Blue bolt,o-ring________292__281__291__288__287***287.8
6)Blue bolt,x-ring________262__264__270__258__259***262.6

You will notice that in astock marker the Trinity bolt with o-rings came out on top followed by the Shocktech bolt. In this case the blue bolt occupies the 4th and 6th place spots.

***Summary****

I have no explinations for any of the results, i am only posting the information i was able to gather. I will say that the stock bolt, regarledd in what marker had more kick than any other bolt. fter doing this test i can only say that the Blue bolt will only work at its potetntial in an LP set up. I t will however reduce kick greatly in an HP set up. I do beleive that all parts require a break in period to work at its full potential. I give the Blue bolt a for LP set ups, but a for HP set ups(unless you just want less kick.

I will end by sayin that i am not in any way affiliated with ACP

Post up comment or questions, lates.

I know a good doctor for treating carpal tunnel....

So the X-rings suck... and the blue bolt doesn't have as high flow as the trinity, and the trinity has a massive venturi type of deal???

The superfly only has metal on metal contact in the very back of the bolt, it doesn't really affect anything other than scratching a part of the inside of your body that doesn't really matter.

yea, Im using a superfly right now. (i lost the timmy pin the blue bolt, but im convinced someone stole it) It runs very well, makes a great seal, But it could be better with O-rings.
